Pellegrino and Duca di Castelmonte wines represent all the main features of this land, the synthesis of places, the memory and traditions of great civilizations, will help you to understand the very soul of Sicily.
Carlo Pellegrino was founded in Marsala in 1880. Since then it has grown constantly. It is now one of the leading Sicilian companies, not only for the production and sale of Marsala, but also for wines of Pantelleria, DOC table wines and wines under the label of Duca di Castelmonte. Today Pellegrino has three operative units. The historical cellars in Marsala with a capacity of 200,000 hl. (400,000 in oak), a second winery near Marsala in Cardilla with a thermal conditioned capacity of 7000 hl. with a potential of 10,000 hl., and a third winery built in 1992 on the island of Pantelleria, using modern wine making techniques that have permitted the rediscover and relaunch the famous Moscati and Passiti DOC which, together with Marsala are the pride of Sicilian wines.

The company today has 66 employees and produces over 7,000,000 bottles per year with a turnover in 2003 of 19,000,000 Euro.
64% of the sales were for the home market and 36% for the foreign market.

The most important foreign markets are: Great Britain, Switzerland, France, Germany, Canada, The United States, Japan and south Corea.
Marsla wines account for 24% of sales, Pantelleria wines for 20%, table wines for 39%, while the remaining 17% accounts for sweet wines of Sicily: Zibibbo, Malvasia and Moscato.

Company systems of quality and environmental management are certified respectively ISO 9001/2000 and ISO 14001.

The production of Pellegrino/Duca di Castelmonte includes different wines from Marsala DOC, sweet wines IGT., and Pantelleria DOC wines. It also produces a wide range of table wines.
