Set between Africa and Sicily, Pantelleria can be considered a true nature paradise because of the multiple and peculiar features that characterise it.
It is of volcan origin, and it is still possible to see residual signs of the ancient activity present around the Montagna Grande crater. The island os very interesting: splendid coasts full of beaches, needles, inlets, singular rock formations, grottoes.
Of major interest is the vegetation as is the fauna too.
As can easily be guessed, Pantelleria also had a wonderful landscapes: one must not miss the easy excursion to Montagna Grande, from whose peak there is an incomparable view of the African and Sicilian coasts together.
Its view is chacacterized by the dammusi, house. They are very common buildings with thick drystone walls and dome-shaped roofs used to collect rainwater.
Famous for the growing of capers and zibibbo grapes as well as for the making of muscate wine, Pantelleria is an important tourist attraction.
One is enchanted by the trasparent sea, the striking lava cliffs, the volcanic lake called Specchio di Venere, the countless natural springs inside the caves, known as stufe and bagni asciutti.
